Welcome to Grace Academy

Grace Academy was founded to instruct people in the social graces necessary to make them happy and successful in their daily activities.  Our goal is to give you or your child the necessary building blocks for a solid future, through poise,social finesse, confidence, integrity and leadership. People with good social skills are naturally more popular than their less socially adept peers, which means they have better supports to call on when experiencing difficulties in their lives. Also, well-liked people get more social reinforcement (messages from other people that they are worthwhile and okay), so they tend to have better self-esteem, which can also help them through tough times. Ultimately, people with polished social skills are more likely to succeed in their careers and personal relationships because they are adept in any social situations.

Social skills are like any other kind of skill - they can be learned.  Our courses focus on educating our students in these skills in an entertaining and educative manner. These skills may range from basic interactions (ie. how to approach someone, make a good impression, strike up conversation) to knowing the proper etiquette in any situation (ie. fine dining situation, appropriate email or cell phone manners or how to behave in situations when alcohol or drugs is present).

While currently our courses are aimed at teenage girls, we are now taking expressions of interest for people of all ages, including teen boys, and young adults.

Maura Graber,  director of The R.S.V.P. Institute of Etiquette, said: "It is human nature to 'act out' if one is unsure of the proper behavior for any given situation. During one's teen years, it is even harder to feel sure of oneself, as teens are in that confusing and uncomfortable position of being between childhood and adulthood. Teens need manners as social tools, to navigate their way through the differing social events they will encounter as they grow up into mature adults."

With our Teen programs, graduates will be polished and prepared to meet life's social challenges and make a smoother transition into adulthood.  As parents, we see our children being bombarded daily with peer pressure and messages that do not always reflect the values that are important to us.  We want our children to develop their own self-identity and to continue to build their confidence, thinking skills and self-esteem.

The Building Social Skills module is designed to give teenagers the social skills necessary to help them mature into confident and self-assured adults.  The modules are specifically designed to meet the needs of this age group. They are highly interactive and fun, and are in harmony with the growing emphasis on character development and positive self-esteem.

Although only currently available in FNQ, Grace Academy will be expanding into major cities in the near future.  If you would like to organise a group booking for your organisation or kids in your town, please contact Karen or Madeene to discuss arrangements.  A minimum of 12 participants is required.
